We constantly develop scripts & plugins for our production pipeline and some of that work is available for everyone here with sourcecode so that you can integrate into your own systems and be sure of continued support. If you need a hand getting them to work then just write me a mail.

Maya Scripts / aiPrevis

Description

aiPrevis allows a production to save a lot of time by working in sequences instead of single shots. It can be used for full production or Previs purposes. (it is currently in use by two Studios doing feature films.)

Using the tools its possible to take a sequence from previs to render in one chunk saving time in blocking/animation/lighting/render submission. Often a large amount of time is spent hopping from file to file in Maya, loading saving and playblasting things. With the aiPrevis tool that becomes much easier.

We are currently in heavy development on this tool so some edges are still rough :-)

Whats new:

  • Auto create camera with new shots.
  • Rename Sequence also renames any shots present.
  • Auto adjust shot start/end to fit surrounding shots.
  • Playblast now respects active sound node.
  • Edit shot Adjust mode now works.

Features include:

  • Multiple Shots in one Maya file.
  • Stereo workflow support.
  • Camera/Shot linking for cam reuse.
  • Finalcut XML / Avid EDL import/export.
  • Automatic playblast of shots/sequence.
  • Only show active camera
  • Camera name annotation.

Planned features:

  • Asset Linking (automatic show/hide of assets based on shots).
  • Shot Animation Layers. (allow for overlength and easy moving & nondestructive cut adjustment)
  • aiPrevisNode (C++ control node for faster feedback/update)
  • More input/output formats. (Excel, CSV, XML)
